Watumishi is the official portal for Public servants to manage information related to their job-related services in Tanzania. Employees can update their personal data, ask for a leave, track their payslips, and access many other features through the portal. However, they must register for the portal first. Requirements to Register in Ess Utumishi Portal

Before registering online, ensure you have these documents with you:

  • Check Number: Third, you need a Check Number (Username) issued by your employer.
  • National ID: First, you need a 20 digits long National Identification Card issued by the United Republic of Tanzania.
  • Email Address: Second, you need a valid and verified email address where you’ll receive your username, password, and important notifications.

Steps to register Watumishi

To register for the ESS Utumishi portal, you must be a resident of the United Republic of Tanzania.

Step 1. Visit the Watumishi Portal

By clicking on the link button, You will be directed to official portal. Here you can change language and also watch a video guide.

Step 2. Click on the Registration Link

After opening the portal click on: “Click here to register”. You will be directed to the signup page.

Step3. Enter Credentials

A registration interface will appear. Please fill in your information accurately in each designated section.

  • Check Number: In the first section, enter your check number assigned by Employer.

  • National ID: In the Section Section, enter your 20-digits National ID number.

  • Email Address: Enter your valid email address in the third section.

  • Confirm Email Address: Re-enter your email to verify your identity.

Step 4. Activate Your Account

After filling in your details, double-check them carefully to avoid any mistakes. Then, Click on the Signup button to activate your account. An email from the authorities will be sent to you with your portal username and password.

Congratulations! You have completed the Ess Utumishi registration process. Now, you can easily login to the portal.

What to do if You Did Not Receive an Email?

If you are not receiving a confirmation email from the Watumishi portal, take the following steps:

  1. First, ensure that you have entered the correct details in all required sections.
  2. Then, check your internet connection.
  3. Check your spam or junk email folders in case the message was filtered.
